Jan18@12noon Fanfaron Fanfaron (Brassy Bands) corneliu gheorghita Gheorghita Corneliu 00:52:20 At the beginning of the last century, Romanian peasants discovered the solemn music of the military bands when they went into the cities. They were so impressed by these that they wanted to have brass bands in their villages as well. With the arrival of the communists, these popular country marching brass bands were invited to participate at official events. The regime confiscated their land, built immense industrial complexes and many of the farm-workers became factory workers. The brass bands then became a symbol of the people's well-being and the brotherhood between the farm and factory workers. With the fall of the Communist regime, many factories closed down.

Chad Ross 00:03:23 This short musical features the three pillars of the experimental dance style that combined breakin and house dancing. There names are FREE, ORB and Remind and they are household monikers in places like Korea, Japan, Germany, France and the U.K. The production was shot in one day, with no script, and it is a great example of the experimental film format called 'Rocking the Block' that is widely popular among dancers but rarely considered for film festival entry. Because of the unique nature of the Park City Festival we thought it would be a good fit as a new production be it part installation, part music video and all the movement of three stars that have inspired millions with their art. This 'artumentary' sweeps you along a wave of rich musical imagery, ending in a poetic crescendo that leaves you grasping for more. Marlene Rose
